P W Gates Distribution Ltd, in partnership with Mars-Jones Ltd, are now official sponsors of Airbus UK Broughton Football Club for the upcoming season. Airbus UK Broughton Football Club are a team with deep community roots and a proud industrial heritage.
Known as “The Wingmakers”, Airbus UK FC was founded in 1946 and has grown from a factory works team into a well-established presence in the Welsh football pyramid. With notable achievements including Europa League qualification and recent domestic cup success, the club represents ambition, teamwork, and resilience values shared by both businesses.
Based at The Airfield in Flintshire, right next to the Airbus manufacturing plant, the club has a fantastic modern infrastructure which includes retractable floodlights to ensure airport safety, an artificial 3G pitch, covered stands, a pavilion and a seating for approximately 500 fans.
Key Achievements & History Highlights
- Cymru Premier (Welsh Premier League) – Runners‑up in 2012–13 and 2013–14, earning their first-ever European qualifications in the Europa League
- Cymru Alliance (2nd tier) – Champions in 2003–04 and 2018–19; in 2018–19, they also claimed the League Cup for a cup-league double
- Cymru North (current 2nd tier) – Winners in 2021–22, securing promotion; finished as runners-up in 2024–25
